Table Tennis is a new sport on offer at
Shapwick
School and the students have
responded enthusiastically and in great numbers in the Autumn Term.
28 students from years 9 – 11 have regularly attended after school
clubs.
The staff also responded enthusiastically when
challenged to an end of term fixture against the students. The following staff and pupils turned up to play:

Lots of students arrived to spectate and their support was
well received. Callum Maslen proved to be an excellent
photographer.
All the games were hard fought and closely matched
and on the first 4 tables there was nothing to split the two teams.
With four points to be won or lost on each of these tables the score
finished at 8-8 so the attention turned to table 5. Anthony Becky
and Hollie played with skill and enthusiasm but were outclassed by superb
performance from the Mrs Walker, Hulatt and Bullock, the staff won
all the points on this table to make the final score 14-8 to the staff.
A superb end of term finale was enjoyed by all and
will be repeated.
Mr Harrison would like to give a huge thanks to all students
and staff who supported the event to the numerous spectators and finally a big
thanks to Callum for his time, effort and expertise.
